It started off abruptly
And condensed by the hour
In the darkest part of the latest night.
We knew nothing of each other but the blood in our veins.
For it ran the same.

We thought of each other as carbon copies,
Both thinking alike.
I just wished I had been there sooner.
You said it was soon enough.
We said we’d be ninjas.
Turns out that was true.
Just later and in a way no one expected.
In a way that not even we expected.

I never expected to love you.
I never even expected to like you.
Or for you to like me.
You were always just an object to look at
But somewhere between being an object and my best friend
I really fell in love with you.

And I’m not afraid to say it anymore because I know it to be true.
There is nothing better in the world to me than loving you.
